Every few years or so their comes along of group of artists that shake things up a bit. Local-Mu12, a bi-coastal collective consisting of various producers and artists are the ones doing the shaking up. Founded by Fokis in 2012, Local Musicians United 12 (12 stands for the year it was established 2012) is a brotherhood forged on the foundation of the mutual understanding of succeeding. The idea was to pool their resources together and operate like a union: a professional organization constantly seeking ways to help each member of the collective move forward. After numerous singles released, Local-Mu12 release their debut album LABOR DAY. The album features Skyzoo, Torae & GLC and is filled with songs based on the everyday trials and tribulations of life. On the track "Lost" Fokis & The 17th tell two vivid stories that make you feel like you are at a movie. On "She Loves Me Not" Broadway Barrett & The 17th go on a lyrical onslaught questioning their love for the music game. "Chains On Me" the albums most left field track has a Jazz feel and shows The 17th singing with supporting verses from Stryfe & RP. Overall This album is a must have and is well worth the $6.99.
